Five positive cases and two recoveries in the Azores in the last 24 hours

According to a note, the diagnosed cases refer to two women, aged 39 and 48, resident in the Azores, and three men, aged between 18 and 73, resident and two non-residents in the Azores.

Of these five cases, one was diagnosed by having clinical and epidemiological criteria; another after a detection test carried out upon the arrival of a flight from the mainland; two after a detection test carried out on the sixth day after the air connection with the mainland; and one in the area of ​​periodic virus detection tests carried out on the crew of airlines operating outside the Region.

The cases present a stable clinical situation and the procedures defined for confirmed cases, tests and surveillance of close contacts have already been attended by the Local Health Delegations.

Two recovery cases were registered on the island of São Miguel, referring to males, aged 59 and 75, bringing the number of recovered cases of the covid-19 disease in the Region to 162.

Thus, to date, 244 cases of infection by the new coronavirus have been detected in the Region; there are currently 39 active positive cases, of which 32 on the island of São Miguel, six on the island of Terceira and one on the island of Pico.
