A new case in Madeira

IASAÚDE updated the data on the epidemiological situation in the Region.

Until September 7, 1,634 notifications of suspected cases of COVID-19 were counted in RAM, of which 1,460 were not confirmed.

Today there is a new positive case to report, so the region continues to count a cumulative total of 174 confirmed COVID-19 cases. This is an imported case, from the UK.

A total of 127 recovered cases of COVID-19 remain and there are now 47 active cases, of which 31 are imported cases identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at the Madeira airport and 16 are cases of local transmission.

Regarding the isolation of positive cases, 22 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit and 25 in their own accommodation.

There are also 4 new situations to be reported that are being studied by the health authorities. One of the situations corresponds to a suspicious case that was transferred from a hotel unit to the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, in dedicated civil protection transport. The necessary clinical observations, laboratory tests and epidemiological investigations are ongoing.

To date, 17,530 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the different counties in the region, using the MadeiraSafe application, of these 8,278 people are under active surveillance. The contacts of the SRS24 Line (800 24 24 20) total 12,103, plus 55 calls in the last 24 hours.

The total number of visits from the IASAUDE psychological monitoring line, IP-RAM (291 212 399) amounts to 2,087, with 177 people accompanied by professionals from this institute.
