Passenger accuses CP reviewer of harassment due to division

A 28-year-old woman claimed to have been the victim of harassment by a CP – Comboios de Portugal reviewer, after he commented on the neckline of her dress. Sara Sequeira published a post on the social network Instagram telling what happened and it wasn’t long before the story went viral.

The events date back to September 4 when he made the trip from Carrascal to Tomar. Sara explained that the conductor approached her with the purpose of having the fine charged, but that he said: “Good thing it’s not cold or the mammoths are getting cold”. The woman accused the worker of having a “disgusting behavior” and decided to file a complaint with CP and the competent authorities.

In the video you can hear the man say that he has not treated anyone badly and that “There are rules for traveling by public transport”, accusing of “Walking mocking all men”. Sara explained that the reviewer was unapologetic and left an appeal.

I went to complain to the competent authorities because this type of attitude must have consequences for those who practice it. Don’t be silent. Don’t let these things go unnoticed. We are free to come and go dressed in a train !!!! We are in the 21st century! Enough of massacring us with this type of comments, provocations, caresses, harassment! “, wrote.

Sara also shared on social networks a photo of the dress she was wearing that day with the legend “the dress of indecency, morality and good manners”.

Since the incident, the model has made several publications for freedom, against machismo and for the end of the normalization of harassment with the hashtag #naonosvaocalar.

CP initiates disciplinary procedure

CP demonstrated the “Misconduct” the reviewer and further clarified that the reviewer was subject to a disciplinary procedure.

After the incident that occurred on September 4, 2020, on board a regional train bound for Tomar, CP – Comboios de Portugal proceeded with preliminary and immediate internal investigations in order to learn the facts reported by your client. Once the existence of improper conduct on the part of the Review and Sale Operator had been verified, the Company determined the initiation of a Disciplinary Process for the referred worker ”.the statement read.

In the same document, the company left an apology, saying that “He rejects himself and does not see himself in this type of behavior.”
