There are more than 400 people under quarantine due to Covid-19 in the district. The information is from the health authorities who announced that only in the municipality of Viseu, the number rises to one hundred. These are people who have been in direct contact with infected patients, at a time when the number of cases in the district is increasing.
Viseu is the municipality with the highest increase, although the figures have not yet been released, but one of the most problematic cases is occurring in Sernancelhe, where the relationship between the number of infected people and the population is high. This municipality has 40 active cases, including the mayor and the provider of Santa Casa da Misericórdia. This Monday four new infected were added. The municipality triggered the municipal alert, ordered the closure of equipment and appealed to the population to respect the regulations.
According to health authorities, the cases are mostly occurring in the community and are the result of “the mobility of people.” They call for the intensification of protective measures, namely social distance, hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette.
