7 new cases of Covid-19 in the Azores

On the island of São Miguel, a 34-year-old woman, non-resident, from an air connection with the mainland, was diagnosed upon arrival; a 38-year-old man, resident in the Azores, from a connection with the Autonomous Region of Madeira; a 42-year-old man, non-resident, whose results of the tests in mainland Portugal were known after landing; a seven-month-old baby, whose parents, residents of the archipelago, had already been diagnosed as positive after a recent landing in the archipelago and had been in isolation since then.

On the island of Terceira, a 32-year-old female and two five and nine-year-old children, residents of the Region, from Air Connection with the mainland.

The children were examined at the request of their parents.

The cases present a stable clinical situation and the procedures defined for confirmed cases, tests and surveillance of close contacts have already been attended by the Local Health Delegations.

Register an exit from the Region bound for the continental territory, despite the authorities, of a 31-year-old man, diagnosed with the COVID-19 disease on August 26, in São Miguel, having already through the Concelhia Health Delegation, the articulation procedures with the respective authorities and judicial processes

Thus, so far, 236 cases of infection by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes the disease COVID-19, have been detected in the Region, with 34 currently active positive cases, 27 of which on the island from São Miguel, six on Terceira Island and one on Pico Island.

The prevention and containment measures of a pandemic must be maintained and strengthened, whenever possible, by citizens and organizations of the public, private and social sectors.
