The session, titled “Sou o Vento – Pelo Pedro Lima”, brings together actors such as Eunice Muñoz, Manuel Cavaco, Luís Filipe Borges and Sofia Monteiro Grilo, director Rodrigo Francisco, director of Companhia de Teatro de Almada, in a conversation that combines testimonies and memories of life.

Also joining the initiative are the journalist Paulo Dentinho and the author Nuno Artur Silva, current Secretary of State for Cinema, Audiovisual and Media, as well as the director of United Artists, Jorge Silva Melo.

The initiative arises from this director, who directed Pedro Lima in 2008, in this room in Lisbon, at the Portuguese premiere of the work of the Norwegian playwright, with the company he directs.

“We are sad. We will be sad. He was our friend, we worked together, we laughed together, we thought together. It was Pedro Lima, actor. And let’s not forget it,” wrote Silva Melo at the presentation of the tribute, which begins at 6:00 p.m. , in the Bernardo Sassetti Room, of the theater.

The reading of the play, translated by Pedro Porto Fernandes, will be carried out by the actors Ruben Gomes and Manuel Wiborg, who accompanied Pedro Lima on stage when the play was premiered.

Jorge Silva Melo considers this text by Fosse “one of the most beautiful about depression and our blindness”, a “moving text, so now, thinking of Pedro, dear actor”, he wrote.

“Now let’s remember again,” said the director, summarizing the play: “A man is drowned on a boat trip with a friend. He cannot save him, defenseless. And the other disappears into the sea.”

“We will not forget” by Pedro Lima. “And we want to be together, as different as we are, as close to him as he wanted,” concluded Silva Melo, in the text in which he presented the tribute.

Produced by João Meireles, the session includes a video by Júlia Pardo and Ivo Martins.

Actor Pedro Lima passed away on June 20 at the age of 49.
