Benfica ‘benefits’ from the transfer of Fábio Silva to Wolverhampton

HE Wolverhampton paid 40 million euros to take FC Porto’s Fábio Silva to England, a transfer that ‘put’ a few hundred euros in Benfica’s coffers.

Clube da Luz will receive 200 thousand euros related to this transfer and related to the solidarity mechanism of the FIFA.

According to the regulations of the FIFA, the reds are entitled to 0.5 of the total amount of the deal because Fábio Silva played for Clube da Luz in epochs 2014/2015 and 2015/2016.

Therefore, and as Fábio Silva turned two epochs at the Clube da Luz, each season is worth 0.25 percent of the 40 million euros paid by the Wolves.

Fábio Silva did all his training at FC Porto, with exception of those two seasons in which he represented Benfica.
