This Friday, in a video message addressed to the militants, André Ventura asked for the participation of the militants – who have the right to vote as long as they are registered until August 25 and with regularized fees up to 48 hours before the start of the elections- to give strength. the party in the electoral battles that follow, with the regional battles of the Azores on October 25, the presidential battles of January 2021 (in which the Czech leader seeks to stop the re-election of Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa) and the municipalities, to be held in September or October of that year.

In addition to the dimension of the re-election of Ventura and the referendum on the death penalty, delegates will be elected to the II National Convention of Chega, which will be held on September 19 and 20 in the city of Évora, from which the new governing bodies.

The districts where there are more registered voters are Lisbon (2,816), Porto (1,601) and Setúbal (1,036), followed by Braga (915), Faro (724), Santarém (640), Aveiro (584), Coimbra. Évora has 309 militants with quotas in days, Viseu has 303 and Madeira 224, while Viana do Castelo has 177, Castelo Branco 176, Vila Real 156, Beja 152, Azores 130, Portalegre 125, Guarda 117 and Bragança 105.
