Man beats woman to death and dies in accident in Oliveira de Frades (updated)

A 51-year-old man is suspected of beating his 38-year-old partner to death in Pinheiro de Lafões, in the municipality of Oliveira de Frades. The crime took place on the night of Thursday (September 3), around 10 p.m.

According to the Jornal do Centro, the victim was violently beaten and hit with two shots to the head. It will also have been washed down with a liquid that authorities believe is acidic. The nine-year-old son saw it all. The couple had been separated for some time.

The same suspect ended up dying, minutes later, in a traffic accident. After killing the woman, the man fled with his son in a car and lost track on a 300-meter cliff in Valadares, in the neighboring municipality of São Pedro do Sul. The murderer died at the scene.

The GNR public relations officer of Viseu, Lieutenant Colonel Adriano Resende, adds to Jornal do Centro that the alert for the accident occurred around 10:30 p.m. The military also says that the woman was already in cardiovascular arrest when she was found by firefighters. in another vehicle next to the bride and groom’s room, which was already separated.
