Lousada hospital users who tested negative were transferred to Coimbra

Eleven users of the Integrated Continuous Care Unit of the Lousada Hospital were transferred, this Friday, to a unit in Coimbra, after having tested negative for covid-19. This operation aimed to separate these patients from the positive cases identified this week in the hospital.

In an operation coordinated by the Porto District Command of the National Civil Protection Authority, with the support of the GNR and the Traffic Brigade, the eleven patients were transferred to the Center for Rehabilitation Medicine Center – Rovisco País, located in Tocha, in Municipality of Cantanhede.

The operation began on Friday afternoon and involved 23 members of 17 fire departments in the Porto district. In the middle of the afternoon, and after proceeding with the withdrawal of all the hospital users, the ambulances headed in a column towards Coimbra, escorted by the GNR Transit Brigade.

In a statement, this Thursday the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lousada pointed out that, after the tests, 18 cases of covid-19 were identified, with 12 of the 29 users testing positive, as well as six of the 14 professionals.

According to the institution, some users with a negative initial result are waiting for the result of a new test for “having started symptoms.” Two of the 12 infected were transferred to the “referral hospital”, and the rest had “a stabilized clinical picture”.

Santa Casa da Misericórdia also reported that the patients who tested positive were transferred “to a new inpatient room at the Lousada Hospital, whose construction was recently completed, in order to guarantee greater isolation between the groups, as well as their clinical follow-up. more dedicated. “
