Army discovers four more tons of ammonium nitrate near Beirut port

The Lebanese army announced on Thursday the discovery of more than four tons of ammonium nitrate near the port of Beirut.

According to military sources, Army experts were summoned to carry out an inspection during which they found 4.35 tons of that substance in four containers stored in an area near the port of the Lebanese capital.

However, the same sources revealed more details about the discovery, neither about the origin of the chemicals nor about the owner of the containers.

Notably, this discovery comes one day before the month that marked the date of 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate explosions that killed at least 191 people, injured another 6,000 and displaced another 300,000.
