US President Donald Trump, who has spoken out on the method of the November presidential elections, today corrected controversial remarks on Wednesday when he suggested that supporters vote twice, sparking outcry reactions.

In a long series of tweets posted today, Trump attempted to rectify his remarks on Wednesday, saying he intended to urge voters to verify that their vote had been recorded.
“TO ENSURE YOUR VOTE COUNTS, SIGN AND SUBMIT YOUR FORM AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. On Election Day or early voting, go to your polling station to see if your vote has been counted or not. You will be able to vote, and then the postal voting system will have worked properly, “Trump wrote in his account.
“If it was not counted,” he added, “VOTE (which is the right of any citizen).
In response, the director of the North Carolina Elections Office, Karen Brinson Bell, recalled that “it is illegal to vote twice during an election.”
Bernie Sanders, the former Democratic presidential candidate, strongly denounced the head of state’s statements.
“For years, Donald Trump lied about ‘electoral fraud’. Today, he asks the people of North Carolina to commit a crime by voting twice,” he rebelled.
“This president does not believe in democracy. He is an authoritarian who must be defeated,” he added.
