The last minute demands, as far as the commissions are concerned, postponed the presentation of the new Benfica reinforcement, Darwin Nuñez, scheduled for this Thursday.

The transfer was even at risk, as the player’s father interrupted medical examinations and sent his son back to the hotel until financial matters were closed. Darwin’s father participated in the final negotiations, making last-minute demands at a meeting in which Paulo Gonçalves, a former Benfica legal adviser, was also present. Officially, the club informed journalists that the postponement of the presentation was due to the delay in conducting the examinations. Apparently, the issues related to the commissions have already been overcome and Darwin Nuñez can be presented tomorrow.

This Thursday’s episode generated discomfort between Rui Costa and Luís Filipe Vieira. The SAD administrator traveled to Spain and was responsible for the final agreement that made it possible for Darwin Nuñez to reach Lisbon. When the change of course took place, Rui Costa questioned the president of Benfica about what happened, since, according to the former player, everything was settled. Rui Costa considers the setback that the business suffered incomprehensible.
