The diagnosed case refers to a 66-year-old man, who arrived in the Region on August 28 from the American continent and had a negative result in the SARS-CoV-2 virus test performed upon arrival and a positive result. in the screening test after the sixth day.

The case presents a stable clinical situation and the procedures defined for the confirmed case, the tests and surveillance of the close contacts have already been attended by the Municipal Health Office.

Two recoveries were registered on the island of São Miguel, corresponding to a 39-year-old male individual and a 58-year-old female individual, bringing the recovered cases of Covid-19 disease in the Region to 158.

Thus, so far, 227 cases of infection by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes the disease Covid-19, have been detected in the Region, with 29 positive cases currently active, 25 of which on the island from São Miguel, three on Terceira Island and one on Pico Island.
