The court did not accept the precautionary measure that was intended to stop the Festa do Avante !, which starts this Friday in Seixal.
The judicial initiative delivered to the Court of Justice belonged to the president of the Palmelense Futebol Clube, Carlos Valente, also a representative of a brand of audiovisual equipment that offers discos and music festivals in protest of the restrictions imposed by law on those sectors of economic activity.
In a note sent to the Observer, businessman Carlos Valente reported what happened, considering that the decision needs “more detail in indicating specific events that lead to the risk of worsening the pandemic” with the event.
According to the text of the court, the precautionary measure was not accepted because the existence of instructions by the competent Health Authority with a view to the safety of the event was “already public and notorious.”
The rejection of the court led the businessman to refer that he maintains “indignation at the objective inconsistency demonstrated by the diversity of existing criteria in the various activities that result from social normality.” Furthermore, Carlos Valente promises to be attentive, “as a citizen, to what may happen during and after such a festive moment and that may cause economic and public health damage.”
