rearwin Nuñez is close to being announced as a Benfica reinforcement. The 21-year-old Uruguayan forward leaves the Almeria and signs a contract with the club da Luz for the next five seasons.

It was the player himself who revealed the duration of the contract, after Benfica reached an agreement with the Spanish Second Division club. According to the newspaper AS, the deal was finalized for a value close to 25 million euros, which is a record for both teams.

With this sale, the Almeria will break the record of signings of the II League of Spain, since to date the change of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, from Atlético de Madrid to Chelsea, held the record: 23 million euros.

As for Benfica, they didn’t spend so much on hiring a player. Darwin Nuñez Ahead directly leading the list of the most expensive players in the club’s history, dethroning the hiring of Raúl Jimenez – 22 million euros.
