Woman dies in chain in the North-South Axis in Lisbon – Portugal

Two accidents involving six vehicles caused, on Tuesday afternoon, a fatality, a woman in her 70s, CM from PSP and Lisbon Sapadores sources.

The first accident, at 4:00 p.m., occurred in the North-South Axis, next to the exit of the Second Circular, towards Lisbon-Almada, with four cars. It was this accident that caused the victims. Then, at the end of the traffic queue, there was another collision, between two cars, with only material damage.

The rescue is being provided by the Lisbon Firefighters Regiment and INEM.

The PSP is managing the traffic, which is done only next door.

One of the lanes is closed to south-north traffic. In the opposite direction there are two. According to the authorities, drivers can choose Avenida Lusíada or the Vasco da Gama Bridge to avoid traffic.

The circumstances and causes of the accident are being investigated.
