ORm agent of the 4th. Police Division of the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of PSP saved a three-year-old boy in respiratory arrest on the 25 de Abril Bridge.

Source of PSP revealed to Minute news that everything happened at 7:40 pm on Sunday, August, when a light passenger vehicle, traveling from the South Bank towards Lisbon, stopped next to one of the officers assigned that day to the Summer Insurance 2020 operation.

Inside the vehicle were a couple and their son, presumably, “drowned, unconscious, unable to breathe and already purple.”

The desperate parents asked the police for help, who after checking if the child had something obstructing the airway and confirming that it did not, effected the Heimlich maneuver.

Although the first attempt failed to reverse the situation, the agent managed to save the child by performing the procedure one more time. The boy regained consciousness and began to breathe again to the relief of his parents and everyone present.
