Algarve has 7 new cases of Covid-19

Today, the Algarve has seven new cases of Covid-19, the General Directorate of Health (DGS) has just revealed in its epidemiological bulletin on Monday, August 31.

The number of accumulated cases since the beginning of the pandemic has risen to 1,112 in the Algarve region. After data soared in the Algarve on Saturday, due to the Louletano outbreak, things now appear to be more normalized.

In neighboring Alentejo, the daily increase in cases was also seven. In the Alentejo region, 944 cases have been diagnosed since the beginning of the pandemic.

At the national level, there were fewer new cases (244) than yesterday (320). Since the start of the pandemic, the number of people who have been infected with the new coronavirus has risen to 58,012.

As for deaths, there are now three more, all registered in the Lisbon region and the Tagus Valley. 1,822 people have died in Portugal since the start of the pandemic, according to DGS.

However, there are already 41,961 people who have recovered from the disease (76 more).

As for active cases, there are now 165 more, bringing the total to 14,229.

By regions, Lisbon and the Tagus Valley is the one with the highest number of cases today (137), followed by the North with 83.

Then there are the regions of Center (4807, plus 7), Algarve (1112, plus 7), Alentejo (944, plus 7), Azores (212, plus 3) and Madeira (157, with no new cases).

In hospitals across the country, 349 people are hospitalized now, 8 more than yesterday. The number of patients in intensive care remains at 41, according to the DGS bulletin.

In terms of contacts under surveillance, there are now 34,196, 62 less than yesterday.
