86 dead and 3,134 infected by coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Portugal – Society

In the last 24 hours, Portugal registered 86 more deaths and 3,134 new cases of Covid-19.

Since the start of the pandemic, the country has recorded 5,278 deaths and 335,207 confirmed cases.

In the last 24 hours, there are fewer than 28 people hospitalized (out of 3304) and five more in intensive care units (509).
According to the Epidemiological Bulletin of the DGS, 259 548 recovered since the beginning of the pandemic, and in the last 24 hours 4848 people recovered from the disease.

Health officials have 75,633 contacts under surveillance, 772 fewer than Wednesday, the data shows.

The Northern Region concentrates 1,371 new registered cases; followed by the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Region (LVT) with more than 964; the Central Region with 444 more; the Alentejo with another 267 and the Algarve with another 63.


The Autonomous Regions of Madeira and the Azores recorded six and 19 more cases of disease, respectively.

The North Region registered 32 additional deaths in the last 24 hours; the LVT Region plus 37; the Central Region plus 14, the Alentejo plus two and the Algarve one more. Madeira and the Azores have had no record of deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. Of the total fatalities, 2,775 were men and 2503 women.

The new coronavirus has already infected at least 150,745 men and 184,329 women in Portugal, according to DGS data.

The country is in a state of emergency from November 9 to December 23, a period during which there is a mandatory curfew in the counties with the highest risk of contagion.
