According to the daily bulletin of the Regional Health Directorate, today there are 82 new positive cases to report, so RAM now counts 2,192 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the regional territory. These are 9 imported cases (1 from the United Kingdom, 1 from Poland, 1 from Greece, 3 from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region and 3 from northern Portugal) and 73 cases of local transmission, most of them already associated with contacts or contexts of positive cases
To date, January 5, 2021, 3,652 notifications of suspected cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in RAM (of which 1,460 have not been confirmed). There are 912 active cases, of which 175 are imported cases and 737 are locally transmitted cases.
There are also 46 more recovered cases to report, so the region now counts 1,264 recovered cases of Covid-19.
We have, to date, a total of 16 deaths associated with COVID-19. Regarding the isolation of active cases, 39 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 827 in their own accommodation and 46 people are currently hospitalized (40 in the Multipurpose Unit and 6 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19 ).
In total there are 261 new situations currently under study by the health authorities, everything related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
