66 dead and 6,951 infected by coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Portugal – Society

This Friday, Portugal registered 6,951 cases of Covid-19 and 66 died, according to data published by the General Directorate of Health.

The DGS epidemiological bulletin also indicates that 2,806 people are hospitalized, 34 fewer than on Thursday, of which 483 are in intensive care, that is, one more.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Portugal has registered 6,972 deaths and 420,629 cases of infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, with 74,989 active today, 2,493 more than on Thursday.

A total of 4,392 people recovered from the disease. Since the beginning of the epidemic in Portugal in March, 338,668 people have recovered.

By region, the bulletin reveals that of the total deaths in the last 24 hours, 23 occurred in Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, 28 in the North region, 10 in the Center region, 3 in Alentejo, one in the Algarve and in the Madeira Region.

Also according to the DGS bulletin, the northern region recorded the highest number of new SARS-CoV-2 infections in the last 24 hours with 2,745.
