65 new cases of covid-19 in Madeira – DNOTICIAS.PT

There are 65 new positive cases to report in Madeira this Saturday, according to the Regional Health Directorate (DRS).

There are 11 imported cases (3 from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Region, 4 from the United Kingdom, 2 from Spain, 1 from Germany, 1 from the United States of America) and 54 cases of local transmission, the majority already associated with contacts or contexts of positive cases.

In terms of recovered cases that need to be reported, the Region has 28 more ‘cured’ cases and now has 1,153 recovered cases of covid-19. After all, there are 734 active cases, of which 176 are imported cases and 558 are locally transmitted cases.

Regarding the isolation of active cases, 33 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 663 in their own accommodation and 38 people are currently hospitalized (34 in the Multipurpose Unit and 4 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19) .

In total, there are 175 new situations that are currently being studied by the health authorities, all related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM, EPERAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
