59 more cases of Covid-19 registered in the Algarve

The Algarve has 59 new cases of Covid-19, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) of this Sunday, November 1, which has just been published.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, according to DGS figures, the Algarve now has 2,838 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus.

As for the Alentejo, which today registers 2 more deaths, adds 74 new cases, which brings the accumulated total to 2808.

At the national level, in this Sunday’s bulletin, the number of new cases registered was lower than in recent days: 3,062.

More than half of the new cases, according to DGS data, belong to the North region, which has 1,616 new infections. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the North has had 64,943 people infected.

It is followed by the Lisbon region and the Tagus Valley (+876 cases, totaling 60,219), the Center (+430, totaling 12,717), Alentejo (+74, total 2808), the Algarve (+59, total 2838), Madeira (+6, total of 446) and the Azores (+1, total of 370).

The number of deaths at the national level once again exceeded three dozen: 37. Of these, 20 were registered in the North, 12 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, three in the Center and 2 in the Alentejo.

In total, 2,544 people have died with Covid-19 in Portugal.

The number of active cases has risen again, as the number of new recovered (+1,491) is much lower than the number of new cases. Thus, according to DGS, there are 60,026 active cases of the new coronavirus in Portugal, 1,534 more than the previous day.

The number of patients admitted to hospitals has increased again (+150), but the number of patients in Intensive Care Units has decreased (-2). There are currently 2,122 people hospitalized, 284 in intensive care.

Also according to the epidemiological bulletin, there are 64,805 contacts under surveillance, 291 more than those registered yesterday.
