There are 48 new infections reported this Sunday in Madeira. These are five imported cases (two from Poland, two from France and one from the Lisbon region and the Tagus valley) and 43 locally transmitted cases, most of which are already associated with positive case contacts.
With more than 78 recovered cases reported, the Region now has 1,266 active cases, of which 26 are imported cases and 1,240 are locally transmitted. Regarding the isolation of active cases, it should be noted that 44 people are hospitalized at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital (37 people in Polyvalent Units and seven in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to Covid-19) and 17 people are in isolation in a dedicated hotel unit, the rest staying in their own accommodation.
In total, there are still 127 situations that are currently being considered by the health authorities, which are related to travelers identified at the airport, contacts with positive cases or other situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM.
