Two deaths were recorded, recorded as “natural death”, and the number of users was reduced to twelve.

On Saturday afternoon, users were transferred to the Prado Community Center of the Portuguese Red Cross, and they are expected to return to the Lar do Trabalho de Prado, since it has been verified that they are cured, now that their facilities, open from October 1, 1977, in a large house in that town, they were decontaminated.

The Vila Verde City Council and the Prado Board began to intervene, as soon as the positivity of all users and employees was known, which triggered a wave of support that has also involved civil society, with logistical and food support.

Specialized GNR team

Since the beginning of the morning, the military personnel of the Dangerous Affairs Nucleus of the GNR Emergency Protection and Relief Unit (UEPS), an operational valence that integrates some 60 military personnel, specialized in Dangerous Affairs and CBRN (Nuclear Agents, Radiological, Biological) and Chemical), were in the Lar do Trabalho de Prado.

The army is following the plan outlined by the health authorities, which this Saturday determined the transfer of the twelve elderly men, of both sexes, to the Cruz Vermelha de Prado Community Center, an operation that involved firefighters from all over the district of Braga, under the leadership of the commander of the Vila Verde Fire Department, Luís Morais, with the collaboration of the military of the Prado da GNR Territorial Post.

The GNR Emergency Protection and Relief Unit (UEPS) succeeds the Protection and Relief Intervention Group that succeeded the GIPS (Protection and Relief Intervention Group), which has its 11th Company based in Braga, which covers no only Minho, like all Oporto, with facilities in Braga, Arcos de Valdevez, Fafe and Baltar.

The GNR army has already carried out another decontamination, also in the Minho region, such as Barcelos, Arcos de Valdevez, Viana do Castelo and Melgaço.

For its intervention in facilities, the special GNR nucleus has been activated daily for hospital establishments, private institutions of social solidarity, nursing homes and nurseries, as well as day centers, in addition to GNR facilities and vehicles. .

The structure operates uninterruptedly, in Lisbon and Porto, through two decontamination lines exclusively for ambulances and Emergency Medical and Resuscitation Vehicles (VMER) of the INEM, the Portuguese Red Cross and Firefighters from all over the country, registering daily Decontamination average of 50 vehicles, according to GNR.

The Lar do Trabalho de Prado has its origin in the Asylum for the Invalids of the Prado Project, founded on December 7, 1928 by António Maria Machado, with the intention of those responsible for installing both in an old school next to the Igreja Matrix of Prado, for the older and younger, in a company budgeted around two million euros, which aims to be a reality even before its centenary, with the support of the Verde City Council, the Parish Council of Vila de Prado, from the Braga Social Security District and other official institutions and private entities, as well as the Prado Santa María Parish and the Archdiocese of Braga.
