The Public Ministry (MP) accused a 44-year-old man from Cruz, Vila Nova de Famalicão, of 452 crimes of sexual abuse and rape, the victims being the two daughters, according to the order to which Lusa had access this Thursday.

The defendant is also charged with a crime of domestic violence against women.

According to the MP, the main victim of sexual abuse was the couple’s eldest daughter.

The abuse started when she was 13 years old, when her father said he would “prepare her for the future.” They only stopped when their 21-year-old daughter told a friend what was happening and filed a complaint with the Portuguese Victim Support Association (APAV).

The alleged abuses were almost always perpetrated at the family residence, but also occurred on a hill near the home.

As the daughter approached adulthood, the accused would have begun to intensify his control over her, opposing her until they had a romantic relationship.

Later, when the daughter started dating, he would only let her go with her boyfriend if she had sex with him first. Always, adds the accusation, under threats, that is, of death.

Sexual abuse would happen almost every week.

For his actions towards his eldest daughter, the defendant is accused of 52 crimes of aggravated child sexual abuse, 208 crimes of aggravated child abuse and 191 crimes of aggravated rape. He is also charged with a crime of injury for breaking his daughter’s cell phone.

The accused will also answer for another crime of aggravated sexual abuse, the victim being the youngest daughter, at a time when she was 13 years old.

The MP also accused the accused of domestic violence, in which case the victim is the woman.

The prosecution says that the defendant, since the wedding, has always sought to control the daily life of the victim, preventing him from wearing certain clothes and interacting with other people.

He also imposed sexual practices on her that she did not want, vilified her and attacked her with shoving and slapping.

The victim left the house with her daughters, but returned the next day, “because she has no job or livelihood.

As of March of this year, the economic problems of the home worsened due to the covid-19 pandemic, which caused the intensification of the abuse, that is, psychological, inflicted by the accused on women.

The accused was arrested in June by the Judicial Police and is in preventive detention.
