27 new cases in the Azores in the last 24 hours

Thus, of the 16 new cases diagnosed on the island of São Miguel, 11 are related to previously identified chains; three correspond to three new chains (one in Lagoa and two in Ribeira Grande), one to be verified and a positive case referring to a non-resident (test referring to the 6th day).

On the island of Terceira, of the 11 new cases diagnosed in the last 24 hours, nine are related to previously identified transmission chains and two to be verified.

The Azores registered 10 recoveries, all in Angra do Heroísmo, on the island of Terceira.

15 hospitalizations

There are currently 15 people hospitalized, seven of whom are in the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital in Ponta Delgada; seven at the Santo Espírito Hospital on the island of Terceira (three of them in the ICU) and one at the Hospital da Horta.

51 active transmission chains

51 transmission chains are active, 37 in São Miguel (with the emergence of three new chains, two in Ribeira Grande and another in Lagoa), an active chain shared between São Miguel and São Jorge, and 14 transmission chains on Terceira Island .

To date, 23 transmission chains have been extinguished.

As of today, there are 464 active positive cases, of which 344 are in São Miguel, 118 in Terceira, one in Pico and one in Faial.

To date, 1,356 cases of contagion by the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus have been detected, with 20 deaths and 788 recoveries.
