According to the Regional Health Directorate, Madeira today registers 26 new cases of covid-19, 25 of which are transmitted locally and one is imported from France. Two of the contacts are still under investigation.
The Region now has 752 confirmed cases of infection by the new coronavirus, two of which 189 are active.
Regarding the cases confirmed today, six cases of local transmission affect 6 children and young people who attend educational establishments in the municipality of Funchal, Câmara de Lobos and Calheta.
Today there are 9 more recovered cases to report. The Region now has 561 recovered cases of covid-19.
Regarding the isolation of active cases, 32 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 155 in their own accommodation and 2 people are hospitalized – 1 in the Polyvalent Unit dedicated to covid-19 and 1 patient in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to covid-19.
There are still 98 new situations under study by the health authorities, 5 of the detection operation at the Madeira airport and 93 related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM, EPERAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
The Region continues with two deaths associated with the disease.
