According to the epidemiological bulletin of the Regional Health Directorate, there are 23 new positive cases to report this Sunday. These are six cases imported from the United Kingdom (2), Lisbon and the Tagus Valley Region (2) and North of Portugal (2) and 17 cases of local transmission, mostly associated with contacts or contexts of previously positive cases. identified, and the contacts of 2 cases are still under investigation.

As for the cases confirmed today, it should be noted that four cases refer to children, three of whom attend educational establishments in the municipalities of Funchal and Machico. The contingency plan for these establishments is already active and the epidemiological investigation is ongoing.

Regarding the residence of active cases, 32 are non-residents and 210 are residents.

13 people hospitalized

Regarding the isolation of active cases, 22 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 207 in their own accommodation and currently 13 people are hospitalized, 11 in the Polyvalent Unit and 2 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to covid-19 .

It should be noted that, in the Multipurpose Unit dedicated to covid-19, there is also a patient under study, identified in the context of the second in-hospital screening test for hospitalized patients. An investigation is ongoing.
