The Government will prohibit circulation between municipalities on the big weekends of December – that is, between 11 p.m. on November 27 and 5 a.m. on December 2 and between 11 p.m. on December 4 and 5 a.m. on December 9. The idea is to prevent the movement of people during the bridges that result from the holidays (December 1 and 8), as announced this Saturday by the President of the Government, António Costa.

In order to further reduce the movement of people, the Government grants a time tolerance on November 30 and December 7 and calls on private entities to fire workers on those dates. But, as has already been seen, in some regions the day will not be for shopping, since in 127 municipalities the establishments have to close at 3:00 p.m.

The measures planned for the first weekends of December, as well as the suspension of teaching activities on November 30 and December 7, and the mandatory use of a mask in the workplace, will be applied in all municipalities in Portugal continental. .

And if you are already calculating how the measures can be made after this two-week emergency period is over, the prime minister has already left a clue: “I would be very surprised if there was no emergency at Christmas.”
