21 new cases of covid-19 in the last 24 hours in Madeira

The Regional Health Directorate reported today 21 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection in RAM. With these new cases, the region now has 8,433 confirmed cases.

This is 1 imported case from Poland and 20 locally transmitted cases, most of which are already associated with positive case contacts. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.

There are now 38 more recovered cases to report. RAM now represents 7,999 recovered cases.

On the other hand, to date, the region represents a total of 71 deaths associated with the new virus.

There are 363 active cases, of which 16 are imported cases and 347 are transmitted locally.

Regarding the isolation of active cases, it should be noted that 15 people are hospitalized at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital (13 people in Polyvalent Units and 2 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to covid-19) and 22 people are in isolation in a dedicated hotel unit, the rest staying in their own accommodation.
