As is public knowledge It will not be possible to hold the electoral act of the Governing Bodies of Sport Lisboa e Benfica on the date initially scheduled, October 30, due to the strict restrictions announced by the Council of Ministers, which prohibit the free movement of citizens between municipalities, between October 30 and November 3.
As planned worsening pandemic situation for the foreseeable future, as publicly assumed by health officials and specialists with the inherent implementation of the most varied security and restriction measures.
Respecting strict compliance with the Club Statutes, which establishes and defines, in terms of article 55, number 2, letter a), that the electoral acts for the Club’s Bodies (Board of the General Assembly, Board of Management and Supervision) must take place between October 24 and 31, every four years.
The Table of the General Assembly of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, meeting today with representatives of the four lists of candidates for the Elections of the Governing Bodies of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, informed them of the decision to anticipate and call the electoral act for next Wednesday, October 28, 2020, under the terms and conditions provided in previously published notice of convocation, that is to say, about voting times and places.
