In a period of contingency in the face of Covid-19, the meeting was criticized by many freemasons, who refused to be present.

The Grand Lodge of Portugal (GLSP), one of the several Masonic lodges that exist in our country, gathered about 200 people this Saturday at a dinner held at the Ritz Carlton hotel, in Penha Longa, in Sintra, CM.

In a contingency period in the face of Covid-19, this meeting was criticized by many Freemasons, who refused to even be present.

The event was a gala dinner, in “honor of the ladies”, which also served to commemorate the second anniversary of the Sovereign Grand Lodge of Portugal.

Registration costs 35 euros per person, and the regulations required those present to dress up. During the day the men were alone in Sintra, and only at night the women joined, who were entitled to a special night.

At the beginning of the event, the ‘Fado da Soberana’ was sung, a theme by Vasco Lima with verses by Fernando Correia, which is considered a Masonic litany that is recited at each meeting.

Contacted by CM, elements of that hotel unit said they did not know the organization and organization of the dinner.

GLSP’s grand teacher is João Pestana Dias.
