The COVID-19 pandemic is not over yet and the solution appears to be a long way off. However, societies have learned and adapted in some areas. According to the results of a survey carried out by Hays, a leading group in the hiring of qualified professionals, the ideal scenario for Portuguese professionals would be 2 days of remote work and 3 days of face-to-face work.

According to the recent study, most professionals seem to be split between 2-3 days of remote work a week, with even 19% indicating that they would like to work only 1 day a week in the office or workplace.

In general, the natural inclination of the majority of respondents seems to point to a greater preference for teleworking than face-to-face work.

About 79% of the professionals surveyed indicate that they were able to telecommute during the quarantine period. Of these, 46% consider that their productivity has been maintained, and 39% even indicate that it has improved. 50% indicate that the quality of their family life has improved, this is the factor where there is greater consensus in terms of effective improvement.

Some factors such as mental health and work-life balance seem to be quite polarized. Only 21% consider that the balance between personal and professional life has been maintained, 32% indicate that it has worsened and 46% indicate that it has improved. The same occurs with mental health, which for 30% of respondents worsened and for 25% improved.

Likewise, according to the professionals surveyed, 41% currently work from home, 32% divide their working hours between remote and face-to-face work and 27% return to the workplace full time, without remote work.
