There are another 156 new cases of covid-19 in Madeira. The epidemiological bulletin updated this Sunday by the Regional Health Directorate (DRS) states that eight of these cases are imported from the Lisbon Region and the Tagus Valley (1), North Region (1) and Central Region (1), Poland ( 1), Luxembourg (1) and the USA (2), the remaining 148 being locally broadcast.
After all, with 65 more recovery cases, Madeira currently has 1,600 active cases, of which 119 are imported cases and 1,481 are locally transmitted cases.
Regarding the isolation of active cases, 73 people are hospitalized (71 in Polyvalent Units and two in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to covid-19), 58 are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit and 1,496 are recovering in their own accommodation.
In total, there are also 166 new situations that are being studied by the health authorities, which are related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM.
As for the active surveillance of contacts of positive cases, 2,272 people are being accompanied by the health authorities of the different municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo.
