14 new positive cases in Madeira – DNOTICIAS.PT

There are 14 new positive cases to report this Saturday. These are 8 imported cases (four from the UK, one from Poland, one from France, one from Italy and one from Malta). The remaining six cases are of local transmission.

As for the six cases of local transmission confirmed today, two are associated with contacts with travelers from outside the Region who tested positive after returning to the region of origin, and four are contacts close to 1 recently identified positive case, which they were already in follow-up. health authorities and were already in prophylactic isolation.

Also according to the epidemiological bulletin of IASaúde, to date there are nine more recovered cases to report. The Region now counts 325 recovered cases of covid-19, keeping a record of one death associated with the virus.

After all, there are currently 192 active cases, of which 149 are imported cases identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at the Madeira airport and 43 are locally transmitted. Regarding the residence of active cases, 130 are non-residents and 62 are RAM residents.

Regarding the isolation of active cases, 76 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 113 in their own accommodation and three people remain hospitalized in the Multipurpose Unit dedicated to covid-19.

In total, there are 46 new situations that are being studied by the health authorities, 15 from the airport control operation and 31 related to contacts with positive cases or situations reported to the SRS24 line. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
