There are 13 new positive cases of covid-19 that will be reported this Wednesday, so the Region now has 811 confirmed cases since March, these are 13 cases of local transmission. (6 in Funchal, 4 in Santa Cruz, 2 in Machico and 1 in Santana), all associated with previously identified positive case contacts.
Regarding the confirmed cases, the Regional Health Directorate indicates that one of them refers to a health professional, with professional activity in the private sector, in the social area. The respective institution has an active contingency plan and an epidemiological investigation is underway.
In total, there are also 150 new situations that are being studied by the health authorities, 12 from the Madeira airport detection operation and 138 related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
On the other hand, there are 10 more recovered cases to report and the Region now has 207 active cases, of which 40 are imported cases identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at the Madeira airport and 167 are cases of local transmission. Regarding the residence of active cases, 26 are non-residents and 181 are residents.
Regarding the isolation of active cases, 25 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 178 in their own accommodation and 4 people are hospitalized, three in the Polyvalent Unit dedicated to covid-19 and one patient in the Intensive Care Unit.

Regarding the active surveillance of cases of positive contacts, 1,395 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the different municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo. Regarding the surveillance of travelers, 5,672 people are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the ‘Madeira Safe’ application.
