There are 12 new positive cases to report this Saturday, so Madeira now has 672 confirmed cases of covid-19. These are 12 cases of local transmission, mostly associated with contacts of previously identified positive cases. In two situations, the contacts are still under investigation.
It should be noted that one of the cases of local transmission refers to a child under two years of age, in relation to the cases already identified in a nursery in the municipality of Câmara de Lobos.
Today there are eight more recovered cases to report. The Region now has 504 recovered cases of covid-19 and 166 are active cases, of which 55 are imported cases identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at the Madeira airport and 111 are cases of local transmission. Regarding the residence of active cases, 37 are non-residents and 129 are residents.
Regarding the isolation of active cases, 34 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 126 in their own accommodation and 5 people are hospitalized in the Polyvalent Unit dedicated to covid-19, with one patient in the Intensive Care Unit.

In total, there are 54 new situations that are currently being studied by the health authorities, five from the airport control operation and 49 related to contacts with positive cases or situations reported to the SRS24 line. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
41,505 test samples processed on the mainland
As for the PCR tests carried out on travelers bound for the Region in the laboratories contracted by the Regional Government in the Portuguese continent, up to November 19, 41,505 samples were processed. In the total of these tests, 161 positive cases were identified that had not yet traveled to Madeira.
In the context of the passenger control operation in the ports and airports of Madeira and Porto Santo, there is a cumulative total of 108,164 test harvests carried out as of 6:30 p.m. today. In total, the samples processed in the SESARAM Clinical Pathology laboratory amount to 169,823.
Regarding the active surveillance of cases of positive contacts, 846 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the different municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo. Regarding the surveillance of travelers, 8,080 people are also accompanied by the authorities.
