Dozens of people gathered this Tuesday at the Dragão Arena pavilion to pay a final tribute to Alfredo Quinta, goalkeeper of FC Porto and the Portuguese handball team, who died on Friday at the age of 32.
Before the funeral ceremony in the Matosinhos tank, the procession, which left the S. João hospital, made a stop at the sports complex of the dragons, where a delegation led by the president of FC Porto, Pinto da Costa, was waiting for it. . .
The director, accompanied by the governing structure of the club, the Porto team’s handball team and dozens of fans, paid the last tribute to the unsuccessful athlete and extended condolences to the family of Alfredo Quintana, who were following the funeral procession.

Alfredo Quintana died this Friday, at the age of 32, after suffering a cardiorespiratory arrest during the training of the “blue and white”, in the service of which he won six championships, one cup and two super cups.
Quintana, who turned 33 on March 20, was treated immediately, with the support of a vehicle from the National Institute of Medical Emergencies (INEM), having been transferred to the São João Hospital after stabilization.
Born in Havana (Cuba), the 2.01-meter goalkeeper signed for FC Porto in 2010, became Portuguese and internationalized in 2014, becoming a benchmark in the quinas team, which he represented in 67 games, having formed part of the teams. who achieved sixth place in the 2020 European Championship and tenth in the 2021 World Cup, the best Portuguese rankings in history.
