The Portimão Grand Prix is over, but there is a great chance that MotoGP will return in 2021. Thus, the president of the Portuguese Motorcycle Federation, Manuel Marinheiro, confirms to O GOGO. “There was a pre-agreement for the circuit to be in reserve in 2021, but it is very likely that we will have MotoGP again this year,” he says, looking forward to returning to the south in April. Portugal competed with Indonesia and Russia for Brno, from the Czech Republic, and may have won the competition for the “organization of excellence”.

It is recalled that for 2022 the passage of the motorcycle queen in Portugal was already agreed. “It was planned to be part of the calendar and we hope it will. It always depends on investments and support, knowing how it gives us both an economic return and because we have a brilliant Portuguese.”

Miguel Oliveira offered words of praise: “It was a very important day. Miguel is an exceptional athlete. He had already achieved a victory and the determination, motivation and competition allowed him to dominate this race, in Portimão. Nobody came close to fighting for podiums, for victories, and reached such a form in his career that, being among the best in the world, he can be champion, of course ”.
