Miguel Oliveira regretted the outcome he had in the MotoGP Grand Prix of Catalonia.

Miguel Oliveira (KTM) regretted this Sunday the “ignominious outcome” that he had in the MotoGP Grand Prix of Catalonia, where he gave up, due to the crash, when he was ninth.

“It was an inglorious result. The crash was due to the lack of temperature in the front tire. In warm-up, we tested the soft tire, but we saw that it was not going to finish the race. We took a risk with the midfielder,” said the driver by Tech3.

Oliveira also explained that, while she was “in a fight with other riders, the front tire was able to maintain a good temperature”, but as soon as she did “a single lap”, she went down and, “on the first left, the surface was quite cold, at least there was nothing to do to avoid the fall.

This was the Portuguese driver’s third crash, the first in which he was not hit by an opponent.

“It was a shame that I had this result. I could have stayed close to fifth or sixth,” said Miguel Oliveira.

Due to the pandemic, the championship has been shortened, leaving “six races” now, with the next one taking place in two weeks at the French Le Mans circuit.

The Portuguese rider says that now is the time to “start preparing for the next race now, with a positive mind.”

“It is the home of the team, and I want to achieve a good result, even for the championship,” highlighted the ninth-placed Portuguese rider, with 59 points, precisely half of those counted by the leader, the Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha).
