Although the exact date that the PlayStation 5 will launch, and exactly what games will be available at that point, are not yet known, it seems that the people at Sony Interactive Entertainment are pretty confident in their offerings this time around. In fact, one person went so far as to call it “the best line-up” [they’ve] ever seen in the history of PlayStation. “
“Once you’ve got all the features of the PlayStation 5 that make it a truly next-generation product, it’s all about content,” said Eric Lempel, SVP and head of global marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment, recently. told GamesIndustry.biz during an interview about the console’s first live-action commercial. “The content that will be in the launch pane and beyond is incredibly exciting. I would say this is the best line-up we’ve ever seen in the history of PlayStation, between our groups worldwide Studios and our partners from all different publishers around the world.We have published some of this content, and of course there will be more, but the way the developers can participate in this platform, and create these new experiences with known IP as unknown IP , is incredibly exciting. “
The PlayStation 5 is currently set to release Holidays 2020, and the company is sticking to it so far, although there is no definitive release date. At this point, the biggest chunks of information we actually have are about the next console of the next gen, its specifications, the look of the base console, and its new controller, the DualSense.
