PlayStation 5: When will the PS5 be released and how much will it cost?

Rumors remain rife for the much-anticipated release of the PlayStation 5 later this year.

Despite placing us with the design and stating that the console will be released in late 2020, Sony have not announced the confirmed release date. What we do know, however, is that there will be two versions of the console; the standard version and the digital version.

A conspiracy is starting to build around some of the rumors, reports and leaked ads that have come out in recent months. Industry analyst Roberto Serrano, who has made several predictions regarding the release date of both the XboxSeries and the PS5, believes that his latest prediction will bear fruit.

Describing his information as “more than just a rumor or speculation,” he states that the PS5 will be released on November 13, a week after the launch of the Xbox Series.

Its price prediction is that the PS5 standard edition will be $ 499 / € 499 while the digital edition will be $ 399 / € 399.

If this price were converted directly to pounds sterling, it would price the PS5 at around £ 447 for the standard version and £ 360 for the digital version in the UK. Given previous launches and the price of individual games, however, it is highly unlikely that this will simply be the price of a standard currency conversion.

The good news for gaming fans is that these rumors match the leaked prices recently announced by French retailer Carrefour on their website. Serrano’s tweet also implies that Sony and Microsoft may be going head-to-head in terms of their prices for their new next-generation consoles.

While this is exciting news for fans and at a relatively affordable price, there have been other rumors about the price of the Xbox series, so it looks like the rumor mill will continue to grow in this regard.

Focusing on the date rumors, it is quite possible that the November 13 date is correct. A recent report suggested that Fortnite released a special bundle on PS5 and Xbox Series X on November 17, giving a very clear indication that both consoles for next gen will be launched by this date.

Given that we are heading into the fall, gaming fans will not have to wait too long for the speculation to stop and the big unveiling of price and date to come.

Sony and Microsoft will no doubt try to conquer each other in what promises to be the biggest launch season for a number of years and the first of the new decade.
