Player Ranking: Crystal Palace 0-2 Manchester United

Starters

David De Gea: 10/10

He denied Wilf Zaha several times, as well as stopping a guaranteed goal from a free kick by Luka Milivojević to keep the goal to zero. Excellent performance of the besieged Spanish.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka: 06/10

Another decent change. It’s understandable that AWB had a couple of nasty moments against Zaha. Ultimately, I had no trouble playing his first game at Selhurst Park since joining United in the summer of 2019.

Victor Lindelöf: 5/10

He existed today and was part of a clean sheet. Very good with him.

Harry maguire: 5/10

He got his head at the end of a couple of corner kicks but couldn’t turn them into goals. He definitely deserves some blame for Jordan Ayew’s near goal.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah: 4/10

Really difficult to get your first start off Ayew after battling injuries all season. Unfortunately, he was nowhere to be found when Ayew put a Wilf Zaha cross into the back of the net. Thanks to the manufacturer, Ayew’s toenail was offside.

Scott McTominay: 6/10

Unpretentious performance on your chance to start with Pogba and Bruno. Subbed in favor of the best number 6, Nemanja Matić.

Paul Pogba: 7/10

He didn’t need to put together a world performance to win the victory. Solid in his positioning and passing, he will never tire of seeing a committed Pogba on the field.

Bruno Fernandes: 7/10

He had a dead net net to rights in the 75th minute and fired his shot into the post instead of bagging the insurance target. He made up for the blow with hockey assist when he and Rashford combined to create Martial.

Marcus Rashford: 09/10

Very active throughout the game and a real problem for the defense of Crystal Palace. Rashford’s goal was something beautiful. The 5-star FIFA expert embarrassed adult men in the penalty area as he made his way to an easy opening goal. He added an assist to his account while teaming up with Bruno to establish a perfect scoring opportunity for Martial.

Mason Greenwood: 6/10

He was able to enter dangerous areas, but his shots did not make his feature of hitting the bottom of the net. Still, you must love the presence that is bringing you to the right side.

Anthony Martial: 09/10

Nothing warms our hearts more than seeing Tony Martial score a goal in the same match as Rashford. One of the deadliest blooming combos in the world, the pair combined for an excellent second goal and Martial’s ending was lethal.

VAR: 11/10

Mint. Easily the party man.

Substitutes

Jesse Lingard: 6/10

Not necessarily the player most used on the ball, however, the forward in combat was effective in providing pressure and finding space.

Nemanja Matić: 6/10

Solid at six and didn’t have to put too much mileage on his legs in anticipation of the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday against Chelsea.

Manager

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: 7/10

Solskjaer was in a difficult place occupying his left-back position, while he also needed to provide a restful appearance to his midfield. However, the changes he made in the starting XI were not detrimental against a Crystal Palace team that was content to stay organized and make the game ugly for the Reds. Both of Solskjaer’s submarines were positive and kept the pressure on the hosts. United still controls its own destiny in the top four race and Solskjaer deserves a lot of credit for that.
