As Walt Disney World continues its gradual reopening, mask policies are constantly updated to keep guests safe. We first posted news about the latest update this weekend, where guests at EPCOT were permanently told to stay stationary when eating or drinking without their face masks, thus correcting the “loophole” that many guests were abusing to keep their masks hidden. during most of the day. This was followed by new signage at all food and beverage venues, and there is now a new mask application squad running through the parks to ensure guests keep their masks on at all times.
We have seen this new team throughout the day at EPCOT today, with signs reminding guests that “they should cover their faces unless they stop to eat or drink.”
Cast members will actively remind guests to follow current park rules and to keep their face masks on at all times, unless guests are sitting or standing off to the side to eat or drink, in compliance with the updated policy.
As a reminder, these cast members are doing their best to keep both guests and employees safe within theme parks during the pandemic. If you are stopped or told to put on your face mask, be a model guest and follow the rules. If you need some “no mask” time, head to a nearby designated relaxation station.
While we’ve only seen members of the EPCOT-designated mask compliance cast so far, we expect similar protocols will be followed at Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs.
