With the Downtown Disney District open to the public on July 9, there has been much to follow. Today we return to see if things have been fixed at the Disneyland Resort. Join us to see temperature controls, virtual queues, parking lines, views from the Esplanade, and more.
Downtown Disney Parking
Today we arrived at Disneyland Resort around 5:00 pm. All parking was directed to the Simba parking lot. The cars stopped for a moment since the capacity was already very high. This has been a problem since it opened a few days ago.
Parking was free.
Temperature detections
The entrance to the Disneyland Hotel from Downtown Disney is currently blocked with “temporarily closed” signage.
We walked to the entrance near the Disneyland Hotel on the west end of downtown Disney to monitor our temperatures. Markers have been placed on the ground near the tents to maintain a safe distance between the guests waiting in line.
The parties are requested to hold together as they approach the selection area.
We did it without problems! This was a very orderly and easy process.
Downtown Disney
Earl of Sandwich There were a lot of people eating in the courtyard when we entered around 5:30 pm Social distancing markers have been placed on the floor.
The guests were using the hand washing stations that have been placed around the center of Disney.
Guests can hunt for pins again in Pin Traders!
A general COVID-19 checklist for retail employees was hung directly outside the entrance.
Belle and the Beast love the new social distancing markers in front of the LEGO store.
The LEGO store has a virtual queue that they have been using to help minimize the people waiting in line.
Sugarboo & Co did the same with the same markers.
Capacity has been limited to 6 guests at a time.
Starbucks at the west end of Downtown Disney now has an outdoor mobile order picking station to reduce indoor traffic.
Tortilla Jo’s did not open with Downtown Disney, although an “Opening Soon” sign is located outside the entrance.
Ralph Brennan’s Jazz kitchen hasn’t opened yet either.
At 5:30 pm, World of Disney had a virtual queue that was a 3 hour wait.
This line that wraps around this building is what comes in after the virtual queue.
The esplanade
It was nice to be back on the Esplanade today. Seeing guests walk between the gates of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure today reminded us of a quiet day of operations in the park.
Two new posters can be seen hanging on the sides of the ticket offices on the Esplanade. Muppets Now will premiere on July 31, 2020 on Disney +.
The second poster announces Hamilton’s original Broadway production, the recent musical addition to Disney +.
Looking over the entrance to Disney California Adventure, we got to see Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout. Did you notice anything else?
Another new Hamilton poster can be seen just above the entrance.
Plexiglass has been added to the doors of California Adventure.
Unfortunately, you cannot walk to the gates of Disneyland at this time.
That’s it for this visit! Are you going to visit us soon? Be sure to visit us again and follow us on social media via Instagram and Twitter.
