Yuka Saso takes Japan LPGA Nitori Ladies title
Saso takes his second win on the JLPGA Tour and earns a cash reward of P16.5M
Filipino-Japanese Yuka Saso won by two strokes with a par 71, which gave her the title of the Japan LPGA Nitori Ladies Golf Tournament on Sunday at the Otaru Country Golf Club in Hokkaido, Japan.
Despite a double bogey in 2 that threatened her, Akura Koiwai, the multiple gold medalist at the 2018 Asian Games, quickly rebounded by birdie four of the next seven holes.
The title was the second for 19-year-old Saso on the Tour of Japan, and it gave him a P16.5 million cash reward.
Earlier this month, the touring rookie won the NEC Karuizawa Tournament.
Saso made a ghost at 15, his second after 11
Sakuara, on the other hand, bogeyed at 11, 15 and 16. But a birdie by Sakura Koiwai at 7 cut Saso’s lead to two shots.
Saso, however, calmly sank a par putt at 18 to win the title.
