PARIS France – World leaders on Friday wished US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania a speedy recovery after their announcement that they were in quarantine after testing positive for coronavirus.
Russia
“I am convinced that his vitality, good humor and optimism will help him cope with this dangerous virus,” the Kremlin quoted President Vladimir Putin as saying.
“Of course we wish President Trump a quick and easy recovery,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres “sends his best wishes to President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for a speedy and full recovery,” said his spokesman Stephane Dujarric.

The director of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, wished the couple “a full and speedy recovery.”
Trump is pulling the United States out of the UN health agency, accusing it of mishandling the coronavirus pandemic and being too close to China.

“Best wishes to President Trump and the First Lady,” British Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted. “I hope they both recover quickly from the coronavirus.”
Johnson himself spent three nights in intensive care in April after contracting Covid-19.

“I send all my good wishes to Donald and Melania Trump,” Chancellor Angela Merkel’s spokesperson Steffen Seibert tweeted on their behalf.
“I hope they recover well from the corona infection and are pretty healthy soon.”
Austria
Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said: “I wish @realdonaldtrump and @FLOTUS a full and speedy recovery. # COVID19 is a global pandemic that we must all fight together. “

“Best wishes to @realDonaldTrump and @FLOTUS. I hope they both recover quickly from COVID-19, ”said the head of the alliance, Jens Stoltenberg.

Also on Twitter, Canadian President Justin Trudeau wrote: “Sophie and I send our best wishes to @POTUSTrump and @FLOTUS. We hope they both recover soon and make a full recovery from this virus. “
India
“I wish my friend @POTUS @realDonaldTrump and @FLOTUS a speedy recovery and good health,” said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter.
Israel
“Like millions of Israelis, Sara and I are thinking of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump and we wish our friends a full and speedy recovery,” said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Egypt
“My sincere wishes for a speedy recovery for the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and the First Lady,” said Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
He said he wanted the couple “to quickly overcome this stage and regain full health and well-being to once again lead America’s worthwhile efforts to combat this virus around the world.”

King Abdullah II said he was “wishing US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania a speedy and full recovery. Jordan is eager to continue working with the United States and other partners to counter COVID-19 and its implications around the world. “

In Africa, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa tweeted: “Best wishes to President Trump @realdonaldtrump and First Lady @FLOTUS as they make a full recovery from COVID-19.”
Colombia
In South America, the President of Colombia, Iván Duque, tweeted: “With the news that they have tested positive for # COVID19, we express our solidarity with the President of the United States, @realDonaldTrump and the First Lady, @MELANIATRUMP. We wish them a speedy recovery. “
Guatemala
The Guatemalan government tweeted: “The @GuatemalaGob wishes President Donald Trump @POTUS and First Lady Melania Trump @FLOTUS a speedy recovery from # COVID19.”
