(CNN) – A number of world leaders congratulated President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on Saturday for their victory in the 2020 U.S. presidential election, and many have shown a jubilant tone on social media.
Canadian leader Justin Trudeau emphasized the close alliance between Canada and the United States in his comments.
“Congratulations Joe Biden and Kamala Harris,” Trudeau wrote on Twitter.
“Our two countries are close friends, partners and allies. We share a relationship that is unique on the world stage. I really want to work together and build on that with the two of you.”
In Europe, the reactions were led by Irish politicians.
